Ready to embark on this snorkeling journey? Here’s what your day will look like.

A Warm Welcome and Quick Transfer

Your adventure begins with a visit to our dive center, where we’ll meet you in the morning to get everything ready for your snorkeling day tour. After a brief safety briefing and filling out the necessary paperwork, we’ll help you find the perfect-fitting snorkeling equipment to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the day.

Once you’re all set, it’s just a 1-minute van ride to the marina, where our 8.3-meter RIB boat will be waiting. From here, it’s a short 15-minute boat ride to Proti Island.

Wreck at Proti Island

Snorkeling at Vourlia Beach – The famous Shipwreck of Proti Island

Our first stop is Vourlia Beach, a tranquil cove that is the only beach on Proti Island. Here, you’ll have the chance to explore the famous shipwreck that rests in just 5 meters of water. The wreck, a 40-meter-long vessel bombed during World War II, sits with the top part still protruding above the water’s surface, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling.

As you explore the wreck, you’ll be amazed by the surrounding underwater landscape. Once you’ve explored the wreck, you can snorkel around the cove’s steep walls. Keep your eyes open for octopuses, lionfish, and a variety of Mediterranean species.

You’ll have around 1 to 1.5 hours at Vourlia Beach for snorkeling, swimming, or simply relaxing on the shore. This stop is a highlight of your tour.

Grammeno – A Pirate’s Legacy

Our second snorkeling spot, Grammeno Wall. A historic site where pirates and sailors once carved messages into the rock. These inscriptions were wishes for fair weather and safe passage. The cove offered natural shelter from storms. It’s a fascinating stop for anyone drawn to maritime history and the romantic tales of the Ionian pirates. The calm waters now shelter fish, octopus, and many other marine species.

A Scenic Return and Tour Wrap-Up

After our time in Grammeno, we’ll head back to the port of Marathopoli, a 15-minute boat ride. Once back at the marina, we’ll transfer you to the dive center, where your Proti Island snorkeling tour concludes around 13:15h.

What’s Included in the Tour

The tour includes all necessary snorkeling equipment, including masks, snorkels, fins, and wetsuit. While drinks are not provided, we have a small fridge on board where you can store your water or beverages. We recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to stay comfortable during the day.

Important Notes

The second snorkeling location may be changed if weather conditions are rough to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

Please note that while the snorkeling tour is self-guided, you have the option to add a professional snorkeling guide for an additional fee.

If you prefer to customize your tour or if you’re a larger group and would like a private experience, please feel free to contact us with your preferences and request a quote.

The waters are generally calm for most of the year, but if you’re prone to seasickness, we recommend preparing accordingly, as the boat ride can occasionally be a bit bumpy.
